Dodo, the most intriguing bird has gone extinct within a matter of just 40 years of it’s discovery. That’s very, very short time for us to relish its presence and also researchers to discover more about the bird. Dodos were known to be very curious of their surroundings. Which is why they were not scared of humans, but instead intrigued. This fact led to their downfall. We humans took advantage of this curiosity in an animal and shot them do death. The last seen dodo was in 1662. After that, the dodo was nothing more than a memory.

The extinction of the bird is majorly attributed to poaching.

We as a species have a lot to reflect on our past. We do not have much time left on this wonderful planet if we continue to commit mistakes like this. Even after Dodo and several other precious animals and birds vanished, poaching still prevails. Today, hundreds of elephants and rhinos are poached for ivory, skin, meat etc. every year. White Rhino is another such species which became extinct, just a few years ago.

We have to live with nature, not against it!
